1. New season of 24 in 24 is on. This show is bananas! They are literally cooking for 24 hours straight. I would not be able to make it past the first few hours, so I am so impressed by these chefs who are willing to try to take it all the way.

2. Liverpool won the Premier League! I am still a Man City girl (FA final, here we come!), but I fangirled over Jurgen Klopp so hard, and even though he’s moved to new projects (like Trivago commercials), this team still has a lot of the heart and soul that he brought, so I’m still cheering them on. And when Arne Slot started a Klopp chant after the game, he may have won my heart. A little.

3. Saturday was Independent Bookstore Day, so I got out of the house and had some book fun. This is my haul, and I am looking forward to diving into these as soon as I can. The Jose Andres is a small book of essays with a few recipes in the back, and I think I’m going to love it. I’ve been wanting to read Life Hacks for a Little Alien. I tried to score an early copy of Count My Lies and failed, but it’s all forgiven now. Still Needs Work is not only about one of my pet issues, trying to find a job in the US, but she is writing about Kansas City. And she grew up here, so she knows what she’s talking about. And technically Gateau came from a culinary store down from one of the indie bookshops we went to, but it’s a book on my TBB list (to be bought), as are most books about cake that I don’t own yet. Now I just need time to read. And bake cake.
