1. The news is rough these days. It just is. But I am getting through with the help of Easter candy and kitten snugs. Kitten snugs always make me happy.

2. I am working on cleaning the basement, which means going through years worth of memories, some good, some painful. I’m just working on it a few hours each weekend, which means the progress is slow. But I’m working on it. And trying to put past missteps to rest forever.

3. Last week was my mother’s birthday. I went in late to work to go to where she is in long-term care and take cupcakes for everyone. I got to see her and say happy birthday, and she got to introduce me to several of her friends as they came to wish her happy birthday or to tie balloons to her wheelchair. Then I went off to work. They all got cupcakes with their lunch, and everyone had a good day.
