I wanted to finish 5 books last week, but we had some tight deadlines at work, so I didn’t make it. But that’s okay. There are just a lot of good books coming out right now, and I wish I could read them all.

just finished: Marble Hall Murders. It’s even better than I expected. If you’re a fan of the books, put this one on your TBR right now. If you’re a fan of the PBS series, do the same. If you haven’t see the series yet, try to watch it as soon as possible. They did such a good job with it!

currently reading: I just started the audiobook for the new Katherine Center, The Love Haters, and I’m already in love with it. The characters are charming. Katie is a video producer who has to do a piece on the Coast Guard, specifically the rescuers who ride in helicopters to people in distress in the ocean. One tiny problem: she doesn’t know how to swim. Hutch is a seemingly perfect hero, at least he seems that way from the viral video that showed him rescuing Jennifer Aniston’s dog from a dangerous ledge. But according to his brother, he hates love. This being a book by Katherine Center, I’m sure these two will manage to fall in love along the way, but I am looking forward to laugh-out-loud adventures along the way.

I’m also listening to Hunger Like a Thirst. Restaurant critic Besha Rodell was making a name for herself while in her personal life she was still on food stamps. This is a true story of a women who used her voice to make her place in the world. and find her place at the table. She reads the audiobook herself, and she imbues her story with emotion. This is a great story, and I can’t wait to listen to more.

up next: new Annabel Monaghan! It’s a Love Story comes out Tuesday, and I love her work so much. Can’t wait to dive into this one.
